What is shockwave therapy?
Shockwave therapy uses high-energy acoustic waves delivered to injured or irritated tissue. Shockwave has great evidence when used for tendinopathies and tendon injuries, as well as stubborn, long-standing conditions that haven’t responded well to traditional treatment approaches
What sets the BTL Shockwave system apart is its precision, depth control, and treatment consistency. This allows us to target specific tissues—such as tendons, muscles, and fascia—with the appropriate intensity and frequency for optimal results.
At Infinity Health, shockwave therapy is never a standalone solution. It’s a strategic tool used alongside expert assessment, individualized exercise prescription, and hands-on care to address not just symptoms, but the underlying causes of pain and dysfunction. When combined with a progressive strengthening and movement-based rehabilitation program, shockwave therapy can help accelerate recovery and restore your ability to load tissue safely.
The best practice guidelines for shockwave use is once a week for 4-6 weeks. Due to the frequency of use, here at Infinity Health we have tried to make this more economical by offering quick 15 minute appointments for $30.
Our shockwave sessions are insurance-billable with most providers. While we cannot verify individual coverage, your receipt will be issued as a physiotherapy treatment
