Get Ready To Pass
The standard driver’s test does not account for sensory overload, processing differences, or the unique learning needs of autistic drivers. At Infinity Health, we go beyond teaching the rules of the road—we build the skills required for safe and independent driving.
RoadReady™ is a specialized readiness and assessment program designed specifically for individuals who have the potential to drive but require a more precise, therapist-supported approach. We ensure teens on the spectrum aren’t just “practicing,” but perfecting the skills required for licensure.
Who is this Program For?
If you have ever been told that driving might not be an option, or if you have struggled to pass the road test in the past, RoadReady™ was built for you.
We support higher-functioning youth with Autism or ADHD who need sensory-aware instruction.
BC Eligibility
- Be 16 years of age or older
- Have successfully passed driving knowledge tests and hold a valid Learner’s (L) license
- Provide a medical certificate from a physician confirming they are medically fit and suitable for driving rehabilitation (template available upon request)
Alberta Eligibility
- Be 14 years of age or older
- Have passed the knowledge/vision test, and have a valid Learner’s License (Class 7)
- Provide a medical certificate from a physician confirming they are medically fit and suitable for driving rehabilitation (template available upon request)
Our 3-Step Readiness Screening
1. In-Clinic Readiness Screening
A 1.5-hour clinical screening of the cognitive and visual-perceptual skills required for safe, independent driving. We identify the “why” behind any driving struggles before you get behind the wheel.
2. On-Road Skills Assessment (OT & Instructor)
A 1.5-hour evaluation in a vehicle with both an Occupational Therapist (OT) and a Specialized Driving Instructor. This session assesses physical vehicle control, reaction times, and the ability to follow rules in real-world traffic.
3. RoadReady™ Training Sessions
Following your assessment, we implement a customized roadmap to get you test-ready. To ensure the program is economically feasible for families while maintaining clinical excellence, we utilize a hybrid model:
- Initial OT Integration: An OT is present for the initial on-road sessions to ensure clinical findings are fully integrated into the driving lesson plan.
- Distance Monitoring: Once the foundation is stable, the OT monitors your progress from a distance, providing ongoing oversight and adjustments as you continue your sessions with a specialized instructor.
