Work Conditioning In Metro Vancouver/Greater Vancouver And The Fraser Valley
An important part of being able to return to work is being physically able to do so. Our occupational therapists can work with you to help develop a work conditioning program to ensure you are provided with the best start when returning to work.
Work Conditioning Overview
The Infinity Health team can work with you to create a work-hardening program to prepare you for returning to work. The work hardening program managed by your occupational therapist will include:
- A comprehensive assessment of physical limitations and barriers that may be impacting your ability to return to work successfully.
- Once this assessment has been completed, the occupational therapist will create an individualized work hardening plan for you to complete with a kinesiologist. This work hardening plan will target any barriers you have and provide you with an effective strategy to combat them.
- Your occupational therapist will liaise with your medical team to ensure a well-rounded work hardening program.
- The occupational therapist will continue to monitor and alter your plan when necessary.
Your occupational therapist will work with you to:
- Maximize your functional tolerances following an injury or illness.
- Facilitate a safe return to work by ensuring your work hardening program.
- Create and grade a program based on your specific needs and goals.
- Create strategies to ensure that your physical abilities align with your job demands.
- Develop an individualized program that involves simulated work exercises to progress your functional tolerances.
- Minimize risk associated with job demands and optimize your capability to complete work-related tasks.
- Provide work simulation exercises (i.e. practice lifting or carrying tasks).
