Return To Work After Injury Or Illness

Returning To Work Program Overview

The Infinity Health team can assist you with any barriers that may be impacting your ability to return to work. The return-to-work process guided by your occupational therapist will consist of:

  1. An extensive assessment is completed to address your goals and current barriers.
  2. Once this assessment has been completed, your occupational therapist will develop a return-to-work plan once you are deemed that you are ready to return to some form of work.
  3. The occupational therapist will work with you and your employer to determine a plan for returning to work with modified hours and modified duties if needed.

Your occupational therapist will work with you to:

  • Develop personalized and attainable goals for returning to work.
  • Complete a work readiness assessment that includes assessing physical health, cognition, and mental health.
  • Attend a job site visit to determine if modifications are required for return to work.
  • Create individualized strategies and tools for managing symptoms at work.
  • Complete an ergonomic assessment to determine if equipment is required at the workplace to ensure safe work practices.
  • Ensure regular communication and meetings with your employer to develop a safe return to work plan that focuses on your needs.
  • Complete regular monitoring of your progress at work.
  • Assist with work simulation and work hardening or conditioning programs that are tailored to your specific needs.
