Occupational Therapists

Our occupational therapists are registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC).

Dr. Jeffrey Tse

Dr. Jeffrey Tse is an Occupational Therapist with over 20 years of specialized expertise in driver rehabilitation and community rehabilitation. After obtaining postgraduate training in driver rehabilitation and assistive technology for people with disability, he completed a Ph.D. in social science with a thesis on rehabilitation psychology at the University of Hong Kong in 2006. Outside of work, he treasures time with his family and enjoys playing badminton and table tennis with his children. Dr. Jeffrey loves books, outings, and dinners with friends at different festivals.

Susana Karmacharya

Susana completed her Bachelor of Science in Human Biology and subsequently, Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Toronto. Susana is passionate about supporting clients to achieve their goals of returning to their meaningful activities. Susana has completed additional training courses on chronic pain management and acquired brain injury management in order to better support her clients through evidence-based approaches. In her free time, Susana likes to spend time with family and friends, and explore hiking trails.

Constance Chan

Constance completed her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy at the University of Alberta in 2012 and her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at the University of Saskatchewan in 2010. Constance has experience working in cognitive rehab, return to work planning, medical legal assessment, mental health and addictions recovery, physical rehab, and ergonomics. Constance speaks English and is licensed to practice in BC and Alberta. She primarily provides occupational therapy via telehealth. Outside of work, Constance enjoys traveling, hiking, exploring the local food scene, and learning new languages.

Jason Ramsumair

Jason completed his Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy at the Western University of Ontario, after completing his Bachelor of Arts with a major in Psychology at the Mount Royal University in Calgary, Alberta. His previous experience includes working with children and adults in an outpatient mental health setting, working with the spinal cord injury population in a rehabilitation setting, and helping individuals get back to their meaningful activities after an injury. Outside of work, you can find Jason exploring the outdoors, connecting with people through video games, and enjoying music or art venues.

Mark Lavoie

Mark knows that rehabilitation can often be a difficult and frustrating process. He uses his expertise as a communicator and an Occupational Therapist to assist people to navigate their own road to recovery. Originally from Victoria, Mark earned his degrees (Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Occupational Therapy) at the University of Toronto, where he honed his skills in clinical placements in diverse and challenging settings. Before becoming an OT, Mark worked as a musician, performing, recording, and touring with different bands in many genres. He has practiced and taught Kung Fu and Yoga for over 15 years, earning his Yoga teacher certification in Mysore India. With a diverse set of skills and interests, Mark works hard to provide education and collaborate with clients to help identify and enact strategies on how to attain their rehabilitation goals.

Carl De Guzman

Carl completed his Master's of Science in Occupational Therapy at Western University after completing his Bachelor of Science at University of Toronto with a double major in Neuroscience and Nutrition. Carl has experience in community mental health settings, community private insurance settings, acute care and physical rehabilitation settings. As a life long-learner, he has taken professional development courses in cognitive rehabilitation, concussion management, vestibular therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, chronic pain management, trauma-sensitive treatment, Yoga Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga, and the use of exercise to manage chronic pain. Carl appreciates the privilege to work alongside clients and applies a client-centred and occupational therapy lens in treatment. He partners with and helps guide clients towards their own individual recovery. In his leisurely time, he hikes, rock climbs, and plays ukulele and guitar.

Winnona Rea

Winnona received her Master's of Occupational Therapy from McGill University. Prior to this, she completed her Bachelor of Sciences with a double major in Biological Sciences and Psychology at the University of Alberta. As an Occupational Therapist, she has a passion for learning from the lived- experiences of her clients, and is privileged in finding ways to connect, support, and encourage her clients through their process of overcoming their functional barriers and reaching their goals. Winnona assists her clients through a combination of cognitive, psychological, and physical interventions to maximize their overall health and wellness. Throughout her practice, she has taken a particular interest in the field of mental health, complex musculoskeletal injuries, and traumatic/acquired brain injuries. Winnona has completed additional training and courses covering topics in concussion management and interventions, environmental adaptations, return-to-work and ergonomics, chronic pain management, and cognitive behavioural and mental health therapy approaches. In her free time, she enjoys hiking and exploring the mountains with her dog, kayaking, travelling, cooking, and reading. She speaks fluent English, French, and conversational Tagalog.

Alice Chan

Alice graduated with a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy and received the Student Clinical Award from the University of Alberta. Prior to her graduate studies, she completed her Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology from the University of the Fraser Valley. Alice has experience working in both private and public settings, with a variety of health populations including adults with neurological injuries, physical injuries, and mental health conditions. When Alice is not working, she enjoys golfing, hiking, travelling, trying out new restaurants, and spending time with family and friends.

Jillian Ross

Jill graduated from the University of Toronto with a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy, after previously completing her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at the University of Victoria. Currently, Jill is working in the community primarily supporting adults involved in motor vehicle accidents addressing chronic pain, concussion, musculoskeletal and orthopaedic injuries, sleep difficulties, stress, and anxiety. In this position Jill strives to support clients in returning to their identified meaningful activities, whether this be re-engaging in self-care and homemaking tasks, returning to leisure activities, or returning to work. Through this work, Jill has developed a passion for providing holistic and evidence-based care for chronic pain-Jill has completed many educational courses and workshops to continue to develop her knowledge and skills in this area. When Jill is not working she can be found engaging in her own meaningful activities, including hiking, playing board games, and walking her dogs.

Amy Laroche

Amy received her Bachelor's and Master of Occupational Therapy from Université of Sherbrooke. Prior to this, she completed a college degree as a physiotherapist assistant at the CEGEP of Sherbrooke. As an Occupational Therapist, she is passionate about finding ways to support, help and encourage her clients to reach their goals. Amy takes a client-centred approach and works in collaboration with her clients to improve their overall health and quality of life. Amy has completed additional training and courses covering topics in concussion management and interventions, chronic pain management and executive functions interventions. In her free time, she enjoys hiking and travelling and she is a hockey referee. She speaks fluent English and French.

Christy Wee

Christy completed her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy at Queen’s University and Bachelor of Kinesiology (Minor in Psychology) at UBC. She has worked in community mental health, acute care, and rehabilitation settings, gaining experience with diverse populations in areas such as stroke, orthopedic surgery, and psychiatry. Christy believes in connecting with clients as people first and understanding the complex factors that affect health and wellness. She is passionate about taking a comprehensive and compassionate approach in her practice, and continues to grow her knowledge in social advocacy, pain management, and mental health. Christy enjoys staying active by playing hockey, cycling, and exploring new trails with her rescue pup.

Morgan Kilcommons

Morgan completed her Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy at the University of Alberta and joined the Infinity Health team in 2020. Morgan has experience in hospital and community transition, long-term care, and private practice. She has completed additional courses in chronic pain, concussion management, and mental health support. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her dog, Pepper, and getting outside to climb, hike, or bike!

Stacy Wang

Stacy completed her Bachelor's of Science in Neuroscience at the University of British Columbia and her Master's of Science in Occupational Therapy at McMaster University. As an OT, she is passionate about helping clients regain independence in activities that contribute to their sense of self and add meaning to their lives, whether it's hobbies, self-care, or household and work duties. She is dedicated to helping clients enhance their participation in life at their current level of function. Prior to becoming an OT, she worked as a piano and swimming instructor for over 9 years. Outside work, Stacy enjoys journaling, hiking, and going to pop-up markets.

Sarah Vickery

Sarah holds a Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Alberta and a Bachelor of Arts in Human Sciences from Simon Fraser University. Driven by a commitment to helping others achieve a high quality of life, wellness, and fulfilment, she is dedicated to supporting clients in overcoming challenges and barriers.
With experience in case management, Sarah collaborates effectively with external stakeholders and healthcare teams to ensure appropriate and effective care. She has a holistic, client-centered approach, focusing on mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, and PTSD. Her expertise includes hospital discharge care, exposure therapy, pain management, and return-to-work planning. Sarah is passionate about helping clients identify and utilize their strengths to re-engage in meaningful activities.
Currently residing in Calgary, AB, Sarah practices in both Alberta and British Columbia, offering in-person and virtual services. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring the mountains with her family.

KC Lai

KC is a dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) from Hong Kong and the Pediatric Lead at Infinity Health. With over 22 years of comprehensive experience in pediatric and physical rehabilitation, he brings a wealth of expertise to his role.

In addition to completing a Master's Degree in Health Care, KC has received extensive training encompassing a multitude of therapeutic techniques in managing different sensory and motor issues (Click here for training received)

Additionally, KC holds certifications in administering the Sensory Integration and Praxis Test (SIPT), Therapeutic Listening®, Handwriting Without Tears® Program, Kinesio Taping®, VitalStim Therapy, and Bowen Therapy.

In addition to his clinical responsibilities, he supervises and mentors pediatric OTs at Infinity Health, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment for professional growth.

As a Registered Autism Service Provider (RASP) and fluent speaker of English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, KC is committed to providing holistic and culturally sensitive care to every child and family he serves. He is also dedicated to upload the highest standard of quality care and supervision.

Shirley Hsieh

Shirley completed her Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Alberta after completing her Bachelors in Kinesiology from the University of British Columbia. She has experience with community private practice, outpatient mental health, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation programs. Shirley uses a client-centered and holistic approach to therapy to help her clients achieve their occupational goals. She has taken additional courses on chronic pain management, cognitive behavioral therapy, and brain injury rehabilitation. She is a lifetime learner and will continue to strive to expand her knowledge in various areas of practice. Outside of work, Shirley enjoys various activities such as hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, rollerblading, running, and weight lifting.

Irene Poon

Irene obtained her Master's of Science in Occupational Therapy from Queen's University after graduating from the University of Toronto with a specialist degree in Physiology. As an immigrant from Taiwan, Irene is dedicated to working with clients and families with a trauma-informed and value-based approach toward recovery. She is experienced within community-based private practice, long-term care facilities, and acute care hospitals, and in advising transitions through the continuum of care. Irene has taken professional development opportunities in acceptance and commitment therapy, motivational interviewing, return-to-work, mobility equipment prescription and training, exposure therapy, brain injury rehabilitation, pediatric OT training for children with autism, and OT roles for transitioning from unhoused to housed. Irene is on the Registered Autism Service Provider (RASP) list and provides service in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese.

Jessica Kalkat

Born and raised in Surrey, Jessica completed her Bachelor of Science at the University of the Fraser Valley and went on to complete her Master of Occupational Therapy at the University of Manitoba in 2018. With experience in acute care, community and inpatient mental health, and community day programs for young adults with social and intellectual disabilities, Jessica continues to engage in professional development, including Brief Action Planning, Motivational Interviewing and Indigenous Cultural Safety, and plans to further develop her skills as an occupational therapist for a pediatric population. Outside of work, Jessica enjoys painting, travelling, and trying new restaurants. Her claim to fame is going viral on TikTok once. She is on the Registry of Autism Service Provider (RASP).

Nicola Forster

Nicola completed her Master of Science in OT degree at Dalhousie University and has recently driven coast to coast to launch her OT career in Vancouver! Nicola also holds a Bachelor's Degree with a double major in Kinesiology and Rehabilitation Science. Before beginning her journey as an Occupational Therapist, Nicola spent several years working in outdoor education and youth leadership and travelling to all corners of the globe to soak in the local wonders and culture. These experiences have shaped Nicola’s unique perspective and fed her passion to help others lead meaningful lives however she can. Nicola continues to grow her knowledge, having recently completed a certificate course on Indigenous Canada and keeping a keen eye out for new ways to grow and challenge her perspective! Nicola is loving her new home in BC and when not at work, you can find her filling up on fresh air and local brews and foods!

Parmeet Matharu

Parmeet completed his Master of Occupational Therapy at the University of British Colombia in 2023. Parmeet’s also completed a Bachelors of Kinesiology at UBC. He has experience working in community mental health, acute care, and rehabilitation settings, gaining experience with diverse populations in areas such as stroke, cardiology, paediatrics, and mental health. Parmeet is an ex-varsity basketball player having played and coached at various levels. He has experience working with children as a coach, recreation worker, and rehabilitation assistant. When he’s not working, he enjoys spending his free time training Brazilian jiu jitsu, or hanging out with his dog - Junior. Parmeet provides services in English and Punjabi!

Dae Woo (Joey) Hwang

Joey, a graduate from UBC with a Master of Occupational Therapy in 2023, brings a wealth of experience and passion to his work. Over the past 5 years, he has dedicated himself to the role of a coach and support worker with the Canucks Autism Network. In this capacity, Joey has provided invaluable support to participants, facilitating their involvement in sports and physical activities alongside their peers. His commitment to flexibility and adaptability in addressing the unique needs of each child reflects Joey's understanding that every child is different. He firmly believes in infusing a sense of fun into planned activities, recognizing the importance of making engagements enjoyable for children. Beyond his professional pursuits, Joey is an avid outdoor enthusiast who enjoys exploring the beauty of nature. With a sincere dedication to supporting children in meaningful activities, Joey looks forward to collaborating with you and your child to enhance their engagement.

Cather Chan

Cather is a passionate occupational therapist from Hong Kong, bringing 18 years of dedicated experience in serving the paediatric population.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy in 2003 from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, followed by a Master of Arts in Early Childhood Education in 2013 from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. This educational background equips her with understanding of both developmental and therapeutic principles, enabling her to support children and families in diverse settings.

Throughout her extensive career, Cather has gained invaluable experience working within various school environments, clinic settings and community-based programs, collaborating closely with educators, parents, and other healthcare professionals to create tailored intervention plans that address the unique needs of each child.

Cather’s expertise extends to a range of specialized interventions, including sensory integration and vestibular training, handwriting and pre-writing training, ocular motor training, and living skills assistance.

Cather is passionate about continuing professional development and regularly participates in workshops and training sessions to stay current with the latest advancements in occupational therapy. She believes that ongoing education is crucial for delivering the highest standard of care and for adapting to the ever-evolving needs of children and families.

In addition to her clinical skills, Cather is proficient in both written and spoken English and Cantonese, with conversational abilities in Mandarin.

Tasha Short

Tasha completed her Bachelor of Kinesiology at the University of the Fraser Valley. She has always dreamed of having a job where she can make an impact on others; working in an active rehab setting has allowed her to do this as she's been awarded the opportunity to assist individuals return to daily functional movements following injury. When she's not at work, you can find Tasha at home baking or completing a puzzle, or outside exploring the wonders of the Fraser Valley.

Lindsay Lauener

Lindsay completed her Bachelor of Kinesiology degree with a focus in exercise science in 2016 from the University of the Fraser Valley. While in school she discovered an interest in prevention/rehabilitation of injury and the psychology behind pain. Lindsay continues to further her knowledge by taking courses in assisted stretching, soft tissue release, concussion management, psychology, and pain management. Lindsay has experience working with many populations including both dryland and hydrotherapy. She also works as a Rehab Assistant providing cognitive rehabilitation and community re-integration. Lindsay believes that each individual's rehabilitation journey is unique and she has a passion for helping people in their rehabilitation by providing empathetic and understanding care.

Andrew Bauer

Born and raised in North Vancouver, now living in the Fraser Valley, Andrew completed a Bachelor's in Kinesiology at the University of the Fraser Valley, with a dual focus on exercise science and physical education. Andrew is an avid runner during the summer months and plays ball hockey in the winter. He has also participated in many other sports and activities growing up such as swimming, football, and martial arts. Andrew has also worked as a personal trainer while attending university.

Taryn Reid

Taryn graduated with a Bachelors of Kinesiology from the University of Regina in 2017 and has been working in the rehabilitation field since. She has been practicing as a kinesiologist for the last 4 years, working with a variety of conditions ranging from traumatic brain injuries, soft tissue injuries, and chronic pain. Taryn’s active rehab programs have a focus on returning to meaningful activities, pain education and increasing strength and function. She continues to work in the rehabilitation industry to assist her clients in gaining a further understanding of their injury as well as, returning back to a meaningful and enjoyable life. When she’s not working you can find Taryn paddle boarding around the lower mainland, and spending time with her crested gecko Otis.

Gurminderdip Sidhubrar

Gurminderdip completed his four-year Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology and has ample experience in the fitness industry to help clients recover from their injuries. He is certified to provide active rehab and personal training services. Moreover, he also has a background in workplace and ergonomic assessments, so he can provide information regarding how clients can increase their rates of recoveries or prevent injuries at work.

Gurtaj Kang

Gurtaj completed his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a Concentration in Active Health and Rehabilitation as well as a Certificate in Health and Fitness Studies from Simon Fraser University. While at SFU, he volunteered in multiple physiotherapy clinics and also held the position of team trainer for a soccer team. Gurtaj has been a practicing kinesiologist since 2013 and has developed a broad range of experience in working with a wide variety of injuries from the chronic to the catastrophic. He strives to provide individualized home-, gym-, and pool-based therapy programs using creative exercises to best simulate tasks and demands of both the home and work environments in order to return clients to their pre-injury functional capacities. Outside of work, you can find Gurtaj playing recreational sports, spending time in the gym, cheering for the Detroit Red Wings, or traveling the world.

David Grgic

David is a kinesiologist with a passion for rehabilitation and strength training. He has been powerlifting to some degree for the last seven years, which informs the exercise programs that he designs for clients. While he loves to facilitate the realization that we are stronger than we think, he also cares deeply about formulating exercise programs that are meaningful to the individual and their goals. David obtained a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of British Columbia where he was able to explore the evidence related to his passion for movement, rehabilitation, and fitness. He is committed to evidence-informed practice that aligns with his client’s values and for this reason, he offers a person centered, biopsychosocial approach. David has experience working with clients of varying abilities including people that want to improve their general fitness as well as people with traumatic-brain injuries, musculoskeletal injuries, vestibular impairments, cerebral palsy, Parkinson’s disease, and Alzheimer’s and dementia. Outside of the clinic, you can find David in the gym, exploring the local mountains with his girlfriend, leather-working, or tending to his latest interest: growing microgreens. He also volunteers at a local long-term care facility where he finds meaning by giving back to his community.

Arpn Kainth

Arpn graduated from Douglas College and received a Bachelor of Physical Education and Coaching degree with a Kinesiology Concentration in 2022. He has excellent knowledge and expertise in treating injuries for motor vehicle accidents. Arpn is experienced in designing customized active rehab treatment sessions and he is skilled in correcting form and posture. He is always passionate about giving the utmost quality of care to help clients achieve their rehabilitation goals. Outside of work, Arpn enjoys going for peaceful walks in nature, listening to music, and working out at the gym.

Esther Yang

Esther is a practicing member of the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK). She graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Kinesiology, specializing in Neuromechanical and Physiological Sciences. Fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, Esther brings a personal and approachable style to her work.
With over 10 years of experience as a street dancer, Esther developed a deep appreciation for movement and physical health. Her passion lies in post-injury rehabilitation for ICBC car accident cases, helping clients regain strength, mobility, and confidence. She also has a strong interest in working with active aging adults and individuals new to exercise, tailoring her approach to meet their unique needs. Esther creates customized exercise programs designed to prevent injuries, improve mobility, and enhance overall health. She focuses on building trust and educating her clients, believing that open communication is key to success. Her sessions include a mix of personalized exercises, injury prevention strategies, and practical guidance to fit her clients' lifestyles.
Known for her hands-on, client-focused approach, Esther is passionate about helping people achieve their goals and feel empowered in their health journey. She enjoys teaching others about their bodies and is skilled at making fitness and rehabilitation accessible to everyone.

Danleigh Sokerov

Danleigh is passionate about supporting people on their unique journeys toward healing and transformation, and she would be honoured to join you on yours. She skillfully integrates evidence-based, trauma-informed techniques, providing effective support tailored to your needs. Danleigh is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors, holding a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Queen’s University. Beyond her professional endeavours, she finds joy in time with her family skating and playing pickleball and with herself hiking and being immersed in nature. Iosif Oros

Iosif Oros is a dedicated counsellor committed to fostering growth, resilience, and well-being in his clients. His approach to counselling is holistic and comprehensive, integrating a variety of therapeutic modalities tailored to each individual’s unique needs and preferences. Drawing on his extensive training in Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Iosif employs a blend of techniques including Motivational Interviewing and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to create effective, customized treatment plans. With a bachelor's degree in psychology and a Master’s Degree in Counselling, Iosif is a registered member of the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC #23184) and the Romanian Psychologist Association. His additional training spans Violence Prevention, Trauma-Informed Practice, Prolonged Grief Therapy, and Indigenous Learning, equipping him with a well-rounded skill set to address a wide range of challenges. Iosif enjoys working with youth and adults facing substance use issues, mental health concerns, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. He is experienced in supporting individuals through grief and loss, navigating career choices, resolving relationship issues, and overcoming trauma. As an Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) therapist, he has several years of experience working with children with disabilities, autism, behavioural concerns, self-esteem issues, and ADHD. Iosif aims to provide a safe and empathetic environment for self-exploration and healing, and he looks forward to supporting his clients on their journey toward personal growth and improved well-being.

Vocational Rehabilitation Counsultants

Our vocational rehabilitation consultants are registered with the College of Vocational Rehabilitation Professionals.

Lynne Rhead

Lynne completed her Bachelor of Art, Psychology from Thompson Rivers University. She is a Certified Vocational Rehabilitation Consultant, who has successfully assisted ICBC clients return to the workforce after being injured. She uses a Solution Focus counselling approach when working with her clients to encourage active participation throughout the vocational rehabilitation stages. She has experience working with the Neurodiverse population as an Educator but also as a Vocational Rehabilitation Consultant. Vocational Rehabilitation services are offered remotely by Teams (free download to desktop without MS office 365). Alternatively, by phone contact. Upon need an occasional in-person meeting at Surrey Infinity Health Office. When not working she is out walking her little Jack Russell (Baraka) or working in her garden. She enjoys travelling with her husband, their last trip was to Haida Gwaii, as she appreciates Indigenous culture.

Peeta Basra

Peeta Basra has been an Administrative Assistant at Infinity Health LLP since 2018 and began her career in admin in 2013. With over 10 years of experience under her belt she excels in organization, time management and understanding of all computer applications, which lead to smooth business operations and the support of productivity. Initially working in the medical field after earning her Nursing Unit Clerk designation she soon realized that she was better suited for an office environment, where she thrives in behind-the-scenes roles that keep the workplace running effectively and efficiently. Originally from Prince George, Peeta moved to the lower mainland in 2013, coinciding with the start of her administrative career. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with loved ones exploring all the beautiful outdoor activities the lower mainland has to offer.
